Pop, rock, jazz and classical music at the Friedenskirche in Grünau
The Berlin amateur orchestra, conducted by Karl Michael Köhn and featuring up to 37 performers, will present a programme of pop, rock, jazz and classical music.
The concert will take place
on Sunday, 11 October 2026, at 5 pm
at the Friedenskirche Grünau, Don-Ugoletti-Platz, 12527 Berlin-Grünau.
The Gentle Ukes have previously performed at the Fête de la Musique. As it was raining, their performance was quickly moved to the church. The enthusiastic response from the audience prompted the decision to invite the orchestra to give its own concert in the autumn.
The ukulele orchestra was founded in 2010 by the musician Karl Michael Köhn as an opportunity for amateur musicians. People of all ages are brought together here by the joy of making music together on the small Hawaiian plucked instrument with its four strings.
The orchestra uses soprano, concert, tenor, baritone and bass ukuleles. With their different registers, they support the ensemble’s varied repertoire. The pieces are presented in an entertaining manner and accompanied by engaging commentary.
