Working with the Archive – a seminar by Annette Hauschild, Ostkreuz School of Photography
The starting point for the workshop was an exploration of participants’ own family archives – in the form of photo albums, disorganised collections of personal effects, and family histories that had either been recounted or kept hidden.

The participants present highly personal interpretations in the form of new compilations, montages, collages or newly taken photographs. What they all have in common is the question of how one’s origins shape both an individual’s identity and collective memory.
