Public Tour I Oct. 11, 26
Plants are sessile organisms and have developed numerous defence mechanisms to protect themselves from being eaten by animals. Alongside spines, thorns and stinging hairs, toxic substances are a common defence mechanism used by many plants to protect themselves.
The Botanical Garden, and in particular the Medicinal Plant Garden within it, is home to numerous poisonous wild and garden plants just waiting to be discovered.
On this Sunday guided tour, you’ll experience the unique grounds on a stroll through the outdoor area – or, in the event of rain, in the greenhouses.
