Susan Hiller – 'Bad Dreams' and Rafik Greiss – 'The City and the City'
*Bad Dreams* is the first retrospective exhibition of Hiller’s work in Berlin – a city that shaped her artistic practice in the early 2000s.
The exhibition explores the artist’s ongoing engagement with a question that remains highly relevant to our present day: how are personal and collective imaginations shaped and revealed through images and objects, mass media and popular culture?
*The City and the City* is the first institutional solo exhibition by the Egyptian artist Rafik Greiss (b. 1997, IE) and marks the premiere of his newly commissioned film. Greiss works at the intersection of film, photography and sculpture; for the artist, time is not a linear system extending from the past to the present, but is composed of fragments – of moments that accumulate, dissolve and may reappear unexpectedly as a sensation or afterimage.
