Samba Made in Berlin: 2026 Edition

This year’s line-up features Banda Furiosa, best known for their long-standing participation in the Carnival of Cultures, Dudu Tucci’s project Afoxé Berlin, and the hosts, Terra Brasilis.

‘Samba Made in Berlin’ is complemented by Faces Ocultas, a contemporary dance company from Brazil. This will be their first performance in Germany.

Dudu Tucci, a master percussionist and pioneer of Afro-Brazilian rhythms in Europe, presents a purely percussive repertoire with his band Afoxé Berlin and guests.

Afoxé Berlin, Dudu Tucci and guests bring the Afro-Brazilian rhythmic culture of Salvador da Bahia to the stage.

With compositions by Dudu Tucci, they combine traditional grooves, powerful percussion and contemporary arrangements to create a thrilling concert experience.

Over 40 years ago, Dudu Tucci accepted an invitation to perform at the JazzFest Berlin. He has lived and worked in Berlin ever since – as a musician, composer and sought-after teacher of Brazilian percussion. As a soloist and with his bands Afoxé Berlin and Brazil Power, Dudu has thrilled drum enthusiasts in recent years at international festivals and concert venues both at home and abroad – from Mexico to South Korea and Morocco.

Terra Brasilis & Guests

The ufaFabrik is home to Terra Brasilis, a group with a history stretching back over 38 years. Under the direction of Manfred Spaniol, the musicians mainly perform their own compositions based on Brazilian percussion grooves.

Terra Brasilis have appeared at many international festivals and have toured Europe, Japan, Hong Kong, Korea, Brazil and Cambodia. They have performed at numerous major events and cultural festivals and have made a name for themselves worldwide with their diverse repertoire. The musicians of Terra Brasilis have been involved in international cultural exchange projects for many years.
