A VERNISSAGE TO GET LOST IN
The event: an interdisciplinary day-long opening that brings together visual art, photography, body art, tattoo artists and a live DJ programme under one roof — all at the same time, in the same space, in direct dialogue with one another.
The underlying concept remains the same: Berlin’s creative subcultures often exist side by side, but rarely interact with one another. Visual art takes place in galleries, body art in studios, and electronic music in clubs. INK&ART breaks down this division and creates a shared space — a vernissage in the traditional sense, but with the character of a vibrant, accessible meeting place.
New this year is the spatial concept: a walk-through labyrinth will be constructed in the hall, within which the artworks are displayed. Visitors will therefore not be walking along a wall, but moving through the exhibition and discovering the works one after the other — interspersed with tattoo stations, music and the artists themselves. Hence the title of this edition: ‘A VERNISSAGE TO GET LOST IN’.
Over 40 artists are set to take part, with a team of around 60 people behind the event. Gute Sache e. V. is providing organisational support; following the pilot project in April, this marks a step for the organisers from an experiment to a recurring fixture in Berlin’s cultural calendar.
