Anniversary celebrations at the Dahlem Estate

Anniversary celebrations featuring music, guided tours and interactive activities. Visitors can look forward to a varied family programme:

• musical performances by the Arndt Gymnasium Dahlem and the Berlin Choral Association,
• theatre performances by the Galli Theatre,
• a raffle, and
• information stands run by institutions,
• associations and initiatives linked to the Domäne Dahlem area.

The stage programme will also feature welcoming addresses by District Mayor Maren Schellenberg (Alliance 90/The Greens) and Cerstin Richter-Kotowski (CDU), State Secretary for Culture.

The anniversary celebrations will be hosted by television presenter Leonie Schwarzer from rbb24’s ‘Abendschau’.

On the estate, visitors can enjoy tractor rides, activities involving the ponies from the riding club, a glimpse inside the storage barn with its historic agricultural machinery, and free entry to the Culinarium museum.

Short guided tours and insights into the educational and outreach work round off the day’s celebrations.

The Friends’ Association, volunteers and many other supporters have played a key role in shaping the development of our institution.

Particularly at a time when funding for education and culture is becoming increasingly scarce, it is clear just how important this support is for the future of Domäne Dahlem.”

Special exhibition opens in the manor house

A particular highlight of the day is the opening of the special exhibition ‘50 Years of Friends of Domäne Dahlem.

Perspectives on voluntary work for Domäne Dahlem in the Baroque Hall of the manor house.

It shows how civic engagement has shaped the creation and development of the Domäne Dahlem since 1976 – and continues to do so today.

Video interviews with contemporary witnesses, historical artefacts, photographs and documents bring five decades of the association’s and the estate’s history to life in a vivid and personal way.

The exhibition will be opened by Dennis Novak, Head of Exhibitions and Collections, who will also lead a discussion with contemporary witnesses on stage and contextualise their memories within the history of the Friends’ Association and Domäne Dahlem.
