An evening dedicated to freedom and democracy!
This concert honours those female artists in music history who have made their voices heard far beyond the concert stage:
- Ethel Smyth,
- Johanna Kinkel,
- Elfrida Andrée,
- Louise Farrenc
and many other female composers used their art to fight for equality, the right to vote and a society based on solidarity.
Their music serves as a reminder that freedom can never be taken for granted – and that free art can only exist in a free society.
Founded in spring 2023, the Lysistrata Chamber Collective is an international ensemble specialising in bringing the music of female composers, both past and present, to life.
The group (voice, flute, cello and piano) performs in various line-ups and creates innovative and diverse concert programmes.
