Hop aboard our musical cabaret “Berlin-Odessa Express” featuring chansons, evergreens and stories from both cities, from the 1920s to the present day. Spirited, cheeky – touching, funny.

For the past four years, the entire route has unfortunately been too dangerous, but lethargy is not an option in the face of Russia’s brutal war of aggression against Ukraine. We’re playing anyway – and more than ever! With our music and our verve, we’ll take you safely from the Spree to the Black Sea!

‘Chanson-Nette’ Jeannette Urzendowsky, a true-blue Berliner, sings and recounts songs and stories from her beloved city, spanning from the 1920s to the present day, accompanied with verve by three authentic Ukrainian-Russian musicians based in Berlin: Gennadij Desatnik (violin/vocals), Valeriy Khoryshmann (accordion) and Alexander Franz on double bass.

The trio raves about the cradle of jazz in Odessa and the musical tradition in Poltava, about the former, unique atmosphere of the multi-ethnic metropolises of Kyiv and about their Ukrainian homeland. But the three of them have been living on the banks of the Spree for a good thirty-five years now, which is why they also take musical delight in the many things about Berlin that inspire them today.
