Lüül
Musically, Lüül is in a league of his own – and yet his blend of poetry, humour and urban melancholy is reminiscent of Element of Crime, his attitude and raw edge of Ton Steine Scherben, and his affectionate take on the madness of everyday life of Funny van Dannen. Added to this is the world-music energy of the 17 Hippies, who have shaped Lüül himself over the years.

Lüül’s songs captivate with their musical diversity, authentic charm and that unmistakable blend of depth and humour, world-weariness and light-heartedness. With Berlin chutzpah and a brilliant band, he manages to strike a balance between thoughtfulness and entertainment – and that is precisely what makes his concerts so special.
With his CD *Der stille Tanz* – which won an award from the German Record Critics’ Association – Lüül has created a work that powerfully captures the dramatic years of our recent past. Songs such as ‘Die Welt hält an’, ‘Ich bin die Freie Rede’, ‘Verbrannte Erde’ and the hippie-esque ‘Love, Peace, Beat’ reflect the spirit of the times, personal reflection and an attitude that moves the listener without being preachy.
Live, Lüül combines these new tracks with his classics – including ‘Verliebt in Du’, ‘Untergang’ and ‘Mach das Leben schön’. A concert evening that sounds familiar whilst simultaneously telling a new story.
