The violinist Pinchas Zukerman is a musical legend – not only as a soloist, but also as a chamber musician. He says that he has been playing chamber music ever since his very first violin lesson, and that through it he has learnt one thing above all else: to listen.

This programme, which Zukerman presents with members of the Berlin Philharmonic, invites the audience to revel in romantic string sounds – with Felix Mendelssohn Bartholdy’s exuberant Second String Quintet, Johannes Brahms’s lively String Sextet No. 1 and the dreamy sextet with which Richard Strauss opens his opera *Capriccio*.
