Songs about love

Latin American ballads, boleros and German chansons with Miguel Levin and Ernesto Rodriguez: ‘Matured like a fine wine’ – that is how *Tango* magazine describes Miguel Levin, who, like few others, is able to draw out the emotion, wit and lascivious sensuality of his chansons.

Levin, born in Buenos Aires – where his Jewish father had fled from Berlin in 1938 – is strongly influenced by Argentine music, yet in his adopted home of Berlin he has also developed a taste for German and European chansons. And so you are in for a spectacular feast for the ears and eyes, brimming with melancholy, drama, coquetry and gallows humour, featuring songs by Jacques Prévert, Friedrich Hollaender, Cole Porter, Hildegard Knef, Chabuca Granda, Max Colpet and others.

Levin is accompanied on guitar and piano by the exceptional Cuban composer and singer-songwriter Ernesto Rodriguez, who has previously shared the stage with greats such as Ana Belén and the ‘Buena Vista Social Club’.
