A year is being dumped!
Now, as 2026 draws to a close, Thilo Bock, Robert Rescue, Frank Sorge, Volker Surmann and Heiko Werning are once again sifting through their memories.
Forty plus x – were those the summer temperatures, the AfD’s poll ratings in Saxony-Anhalt, or perhaps the water levels of the Rhine in micrometres? When will Trump send the new aircraft carrier ‘Gianni Infantino’ into the Strait of Hormuz, and will Katharina Reiche still become the surrogate mother for the rebirth of the coal-fired stove? Wouldn’t Timmy the Whale have been much better off at the Berliner Volksbad, and when will they tow the exhausted Merz out to the Kattegat to set him free? The Brauseboys will set sail as soon as there’s water under their keel again, and dump the year 2026 into the hottest waters in history.
About the Brauseboys:
The Brauseboys are a reading group founded in Wedding; they have been reading their texts aloud every Thursday in Berlin since 2003 and have let neither pandemics nor wars stop them. Their current home is the ‘Haus der Sinne’ cultural venue in Prenzlauer Berg. Their annual review, ‘Auf Nimmerwiedersehen’, has been running since 2006 and is attended by around 2,000 enthusiastic audience members every year.
