Fide Struck's Berlin Suitcase

In 1941, the working-class photographer Fide Struck (1901–1985) packed a suitcase in Berlin containing about 3,000 negatives. The suitcase was opened in 2015. The Willy Brandt House is exhibiting a selection of the Berlin images through September 27, 2026.

Fide Struck began his career in photography at the “Handwerkschaft Gildenhall” near Neuruppin, an organization influenced by Bauhaus artists. His son Thomas will speak about his father’s social, professional, and erotic conflicts during a slide show.
