Lea Streisand Meets Ahne

A reading like a punk concert. People were smoking and dancing between readings, and then Ahne read one of his “Dialogues with God,” and Lea thought: I want to do that, too. Well, not exactly meet God, but write short, funny pieces and read them aloud in the Berlin dialect.

Ahne was born in Berlin-Buch in 1968, trained as an offset printer, and has been the world’s most famous live-reading performer since joining the “Reformbühne Heim & Welt” in 1995.

To date, he has written 15 books, including the autobiographical novel “How I Once Lived” (2023).

The best satires and quirkiest dialogs of the last ten years are now available in a new collection of stories titled “Stabil im Bus” (2026).

Lea Streisand was born in East Berlin in 1979; she writes novels, essays, and columns and is known for her audio column “War schön jewesen” on radioeins RBB. In 2026, her first nonfiction book, “Berlinerisch—Watt denn, icke?”, was published.

On Thursday, September 10, Lea and Ahne will meet on the Brotfabrik stage to talk, read, sing, and drink. Dancing is encouraged.
