The second week of #berlinistKultur’s campaign for the Berlin election begins on September 1. Through numerous cultural events, artists, institutions, and initiatives are drawing attention to the increasingly precarious situation of Berlin’s cultural scene.

The campaign kicks off with a discussion featuring high-ranking party representatives and leading candidates at the Deutsche Oper on September 1.
Numerous events will follow through September 12, and discussions with artists and cultural professionals will also take place that week.
Rising costs, uncertain funding structures, the loss of cultural spaces, job cuts, and precarious working conditions are threatening the city’s cultural fabric. A clear commitment to the future of Berlin’s cultural scene is demanded from all Berlin politicians running for office.
The action week is part of a joint initiative by Berlin’s cultural community and the Berlin Cultural Conference. More than 600 cultural actors from 175 institutions and organizations have signed a joint Berlin Declaration on the election.
