Getting to Know Vipassana in Everyday Life
This evening, you’ll get to know Vipassana in a different light: not as an extra task, but as a surprisingly simple way to become more alert, present, and free right in the midst of everyday life. No specific beliefs required. No esotericism. No complicated techniques.
Instead of sitting still for as long as possible, you’ll discover together small changes that can transform your entire day—playfully, with humor, and sometimes so immediately that you’ll wonder why you didn’t notice them sooner.
The evening is interactive and thrives on shared discussion: there will be short exercises, time for questions, and many real-life examples—from work, family, relationships, and the everyday madness of life.
The evening will be led by Adriaan van Wagensveld. He has been practicing Vipassana for over 40 years, was a novice under Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, and has led more than 150 Vipassana retreats over the past 18 years. For over six years, he has also been facilitating a daily live online meeting—365 days a year—with people who want to integrate Vipassana step by step into their daily lives.
His particular strength lies in conveying a practice that is over 2,500 years old in a way that makes it immediately accessible in today’s life—in a lighthearted, humorous manner, and without spiritual grandstanding.
When you leave the evening, you probably won’t have all the answers—but you might go home feeling a little more awake, alive, and curious about your own life.
The evening is open to everyone—with or without meditation experience.
