The artist and poet Lauryn Youden works in the fields of sculpture, performance, and installation. In her artistic practice, she draws on a growing autotheoretical archive to examine the medical-industrial complex, alternative and traditional healing practices, and the relationships between architecture, illness, and the body.

This research is grounded in her own experiences with chronic illness and disability. By juxtaposing her personal experiences with queer Crip re-interpretations of history, her work sheds light on and promotes suppressed, marginalized, and forgotten forms of radical care and Crip knowledge. In conversation with Director Kathleen Reinhardt, she discusses her artistic practice and her works in the exhibition *everybody*.
