So far, he hasn’t managed a single shore excursion, but in Barcelona he’s determined to get off the ship, because he wants to see a very special sight there.
Bursting with anticipation, he sits in the ship’s bar, “Klabauter Eck,” waiting for Hermann, Erwin, Manfred, and the other experts from the Elferrat to finally join him so they can take over the Spanish metropolis. But the guys are taking their time. No problem for the president, because, as always, there’s plenty to talk about: all the other clowns on board, international guests, the crew, activities on board, and, of course, the Rhinelander’s insatiable urge to stand out no matter what, anytime, anywhere.
But mixed in with all the anticipation is a nagging doubt: Don’t his colleagues from the Elferrat even realize that their boss is celebrating his 50th anniversary as session president this year? That’s a damn long tenure, peppered with memories of stories that only the session president can tell!
