To mark the 15th anniversary of Berlin Art Week, the Kulturforum will serve as the festival’s central hub from September 9 to 13, 2026. For five days, talks, workshops, screenings, and interactive activities—as well as a “Reading Garden”—will invite visitors to arrive and linger. As the central hub, visitors will find all the important information about Berlin Art Week here—curated routes to all festival venues, an overview of the full program, bookable tours, and details on individual events.

As an open meeting place, the “Berlin Art Week Garden” connects institutions, partners, and the public, creating a shared starting point for the citywide festival program.

  • On Wednesday, the Neue Nationalgalerie opens “Night,” the first major solo exhibition by Italian artist Maurizio Cattelan in Germany, as part of the 2026 Nationalgalerie Prize.
  • Starting Thursday, to mark its fifth anniversary, the “Perform!” festival at the Neue Nationalgalerie will present Trisha Brown’s iconic performance “Walking on the Wall” daily, as well as new works by a younger generation of performance artists who build upon this piece.
  • A highlight of the Kulturforum’s program, starting Friday (premiere) and continuing through the weekend, is the performance by Ersan Mondtag and Nadim Samman in collaboration with the Berliner Ensemble and the Gemäldegalerie of the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin. As one of the jury-awarded projects in the “Featured” festival section, the performance “Alternde Meister” opens a dialogue between history, the present, and performative practice.
  • To conclude the event on Sunday, the entire Kulturforum will come alive for the fifth “Day in the Green” with a long banquet table and a diverse program, offering a discounted Kulturforum ticket valid for all museums.
