Whether it’s architecture-related design, bicycles, tubular steel chairs, radios, or cutlery: Together with guests Ania Rudolph and Rainer Görß, this tour places a special focus on the multifaceted work of designer Lutz Rudolph (1936–2011).
Lutz Rudolph studied industrial design from 1955 to 1960 at the Academy of Fine and Applied Arts in Berlin-Weißensee. The special exhibition features both designs from his student days and later works, such as those for the Mokick S 50 or a communication system for Berlin’s public transit system. Works by Lutz Rudolph are also featured in the permanent exhibition of the Werkbundarchiv – Museum der Dinge.
Ania Rudolph and Rainer Görß preserve and catalog Lutz Rudolph’s estate.
They operate the Underground Museum for Critical Industrial Culture at the historic foundry site in Berlin-Mitte. Focusing on Lutz Rudolph, they will discuss their “art-in-architecture” transformation project “Start Up Allee der Kosmonauten” as well as the latest developments regarding the Mokick S 50 from Simson.
