Performance
Anton Kats (b. 1983, Kherson) presents *Grounded Outer Space People*, an ephemeral and ever-evolving artist residency and ensemble that explores the relationship between transmigration and music. The current edition is being developed in collaboration with invited artists Hiromu Seifert, Natalie Greffel, and Nima Séne.

During a week-long program at KW, sonic, textual, visual, and performative material will be developed through improvisation and collective listening.
The Open Studio invites the public to participate in the collective process, which culminates in a final concert at the KW Institute for Contemporary Art at the end of the residency.
Through sound, the project approaches imaginative and planetary thinking and conceives of music as a practice of interconnection across bodies, stories, and geographies.
“Grounded Outer Space People” is interdisciplinary and open-ended, drawing on Kats’ multifaceted practice spanning music, radio, installation, and publication. The project builds on Kats’ concept of “sonic antifascism” as well as Ukrainian Cosmism, exploring its imaginative and planetary thinking through sound. Inspired, among other things, by Hiwa K’s *Chicago Boys: While We Were Singing, They Were Dreaming* as well as the artist and philosopher Fedir Tetyanych (1942–2007), the ensemble conceives of music as a practice of interweaving bodies, stories, and geographies.
