In *Till Eulenspiegel – Teile Von Mir*, the ensemble explores the character and motif of Till Eulenspiegel. Like Eulenspiegel himself, this production defies clear categorization: contemporary dance meets performative moments, while choreographic and theatrical approaches intertwine to open up different perspectives on the material.

It all begins with defiance. For Eulenspiegel refuses to be the way others want him to be or expect him to be. The ensemble plays with this attitude: it takes up expectations, subverts them, breaks them, or confirms them with a wink. In this way, Eulenspiegel becomes not just a character, but an artistic practice of questioning.

At the heart of the piece is the question of what would define a Till Eulenspiegel today—and whether we ourselves can be Eulenspiegel. Alongside motifs such as the famous tightrope walk, the question “Am I Till?” keeps resurfacing. Choreographed scenes connect this search with the lived realities of the ensemble members and demonstrate how diversely Eulenspiegel can be conceived and embodied.

The story of Till Eulenspiegel raises questions about the possibilities available to the individual within society and about the possibilities for changing society itself. The piece invites us to view rules, conventions, and certainties from Eulenspiegel’s perspective and to ask: “Does this actually make sense? Isn’t there another way? Does it have to be this way?”
