WIND OF CHANGE

WIND OF CHANGE is a solo performance about menopause, feminist aging, the transformation of women’s bodies, and everything in between. It’s funny and biting, masterful, serious, and relevant.

Susanne Abelein and Sabrina Zwach have found a way to talk about the “least funny topic in the world” in a humorous way, while also moving audiences, informing them, breaking taboos, and allowing for shame.

WIND OF CHANGE is neither an educational lecture nor a piece of “feel-bad” theater—it is a theatrical evening not only for the women it affects, but for everyone it concerns: employers, doctors, researchers, insurers, partners, family, friends, and children.

It’s about experiences that are still far too rarely discussed. About bodies that are changing. About the contradiction between these experiences, society’s imperative to “function,” and a glaring lack of research. Above all, however, it’s about self-empowerment: about reclaiming women’s bodies—and the authority to define them.

Because: “We’ve gritted our teeth for far too long and marched through these changes, stuffed full of pills and tampons, until we’ve bled ourselves dry.”
