The performance addresses institutional and subtle racism: a form of racism that produces concrete racial inequality, yet often remains hidden behind a facade of camaraderie and meritocratic narratives.

Using forum theater, everyday situations are staged to serve as a basis for collective analysis, discussion, and the search for alternatives together with the audience. The performance examines the symbolic and subtle expressions of everyday racism, including the mechanisms that make it difficult to recognize and challenge.

The production emerged from acting and dramaturgy workshops and was developed collectively. The concept and artistic direction are by Bárbara Santos, a Black Brazilian artist and international activist in the Theater of the Oppressed who lives in Berlin, where KURINGA is based. The original music was also composed by Bárbara Santos.

Cor do Brasil brings together artists and activists of African descent who use art to deepen and broaden the public discussion on racism.

The aesthetics of the oppressed, alongside Black dance, sound, and rhythm, serve as a central reference for the collective. Choreographed bodies, musicality, and nonverbal language form a powerful visual vocabulary.

The production is institutionally supported by the Centro de Teatro do Oprimido in Rio de Janeiro and is affiliated with the collective of Black women Madalena Anastácia.
