Campus Cinema 2026
For eight years, Udo Lindenberg fought for permission to perform in the GDR. On October 25, 1983, his wish came true. His legendary performance at the Palace of the Republic made German-German music history. In their documentary, Reinhold Beckmann—who was on site at the time as a sound assistant for an ARD crew—and Falko Korth take a look behind the scenes of this special concert. Using Stasi files on Udo Lindenberg, the film reconstructs the events and background from the GDR’s perspective surrounding the famous performance in East Berlin.
