Markthalle Pfefferberg

The listed brick arches on the Pfefferberg site have been a meeting place for over 150 years. Today, the aroma of steaming ramen and freshly brewed coffee wafts through the historic hall.

A relaxed food destination has taken root across some 700 square metres on the ground floor of the former brewery. Instead of anonymous chains, the Markthalle Pfefferberg focuses on owner-run stalls, genuine craftsmanship and uncompromising quality. The atmosphere is laid-back and urban – perfect for a quick lunch or a relaxed drink after work.

From Mexico to Japan: international flavours under one roof

The culinary selection focuses on the essentials: authentic cuisine from around the world, prepared right before guests’ eyes. The menu features established names from Berlin’s gastronomic scene:

• Asian street food classics such as freshly prepared ramen creations
• Latin American specialities, from tacos to hearty burger variations
• Creative fusion dishes such as chicken waffles and BBQ specialities
• Sweet treats and speciality coffees for the afternoon

The central bar serves a selection of Mexican beers, mezcal creations, natural wines and non-alcoholic refreshments to go with them. A rotating line-up of pop-up stalls ensures that even regulars can always try something new.

Culture and cuisine on the Pfefferberg

A visit to the market hall can easily be combined with the cultural programme on the Pfefferberg. The spacious site, right next to Senefelderplatz underground station, is home not only to the food hall but also to the‘ ’ Pfefferberg Theatre, the Museum of Architectural Drawing and various artists’ studios. If you visit in summer, simply take your food outside and enjoy the sunshine in the historic courtyard.
