If language is the key to society, how does one actually learn this beautiful language in the midst of that society?
Alongside traditional language courses, language cafés are probably among the best-known places for collaborative learning. In an informal atmosphere, people come together to talk, practice, and exchange ideas.
The focus is on listening, mutual support, and everyday communication—often accompanied by coffee, tea, or light snacks.
For this workshop, a methodological exchange is proposed: Participants—including those from the language café—first engage with the objects from the International Library of Things in a free-form manner. From this experience, memories, stories, and forms of knowledge emerge, which are then shared and discussed together.
This is followed by a collaborative cooking session inspired by the connections and associations that have emerged through interacting with the objects and utensils. Everyone will be surprised by the menu.
