This summer, selected swimming pools will once again offer sports and exercise programs for swimmers. Supervised by Sportjugend Berlin and the Society for Sports and Youth Social Work, both young and older guests can participate in sports activities before or after swimming outdoors.

These programs are available at the summer pools in Pankow, Neukölln, and Kreuzberg, as well as at the combined pools on Seestraße and in Gropiusstadt.

One of the goals of sports-oriented youth social work is to encourage visitors to be active beyond the swimming pool and thus channel excess energy into sports as a preventive measure.

The sports offered include, among others:

• Soccer

• Volleyball

• Table tennis

• Trampoline jumping

In addition, the existing sports equipment at the individual outdoor pools will also be made available.

The program is free of charge and available every day during the summer break from 11:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. “Sports at the Outdoor Pool” is open to visitors of the Neukölln, Kreuzberg, and Pankow outdoor pools, as well as the Seestraße combined pool; “SpOrt 365” is a year-round sports project at the Gropiusstadt combined pool that is also open to local residents after the summer. Residents can then access the area through a dedicated entrance. The goal is primarily to give young people the opportunity to engage in sports, make new friends, and thus spend their free time in a meaningful way.

The sports programs are funded by three Senate departments: Education, Youth, and Family; Interior and Sports; and Urban Development. In 2025, approximately 22,000 guests took advantage of the sports and exercise programs at the summer pools; in 2024, the number was 21,000.
