A participatory performance featuring Krump dancers
The audience determines how the piece unfolds: children and adults take the stage alongside four professional Krump dancers and discover the Krump dance style together. Together, they engage in a choreographic game.
Krump emerged as an Afro-diasporic dance culture on the streets of L.A. and is rooted in a rebellion against social inequality and discrimination.
The Krump community stands for togetherness: it’s about showing up and supporting one another. “I Can’t Help It” breaks down traditional hierarchies between the audience and the dancers and turns choreography into a vibrant, democratic process. Dance becomes a means of communication, and every performance a unique experience.
