Poetry Slam
As the sun sinks behind the lake, trumpets sound. A Mexican mariachi band plays on a floating stage. And then it begins: The country’s best poetry slammers compete for your favor with their verses. Accompanied, of course, by some “Rot-Weiß” beach fries.
That would be the best poetry slam in the world!
Six champions from recent years face off in the very last duel for the Golden Swan. There are so many poetry slams, and there are so many slam winners. But there can only be one. This is the finale of all finales. An event as down-to-earth as Berlin and as exuberant as a summer evening can be. It’ll be a lyrical sundowner, “Sex on the Beach” for language lovers, and—just maybe—the best poetry slam in the world.
