Concert with a Band
Thomas Rühmann & Band are now making the music themselves. Poet friends provide the lyrics.
First and foremost, Hans-Eckardt Wenzel. André Schinkel. Volker Braun. Jörn Brumme.
Thomas Rühmann & Band were on tour for a long time with “Falschen Liedern” (Wrong Songs). They brought together things that don’t belong together, but fit together astonishingly well. Wenzel’s lyrics set to the music of Lambchop, Bon Iver, Tunng, Kings of Convenience, Mark Knopfler, Tracy Chapman, The Whitest Boy Alive, and Neil Young. Now their own work. Right instead of wrong.
He is a musician and actor, artistic director of his own theater (on the edge of the Oderbruch region), and a true TV star. Long before he captivated millions of viewers week after week in the ARD hit series “In aller Freundschaft” in his doctor’s coat and with a stethoscope, he was already touring the stages, concert halls, and music clubs of this country with a variety of shows.
Thomas Rühmann tells the stories of life, both big and small. Always personal, always playful, with plenty of poetry and even more vitality.
A concert evening that, even far removed from “everyday hospital life,” is accessible to everyone—but above all, a delight.
