Berliner Philharmoniker Ensembles

Whether with eight, nine, or ten players: large-scale wind chamber music is an experience—for the audience as much as for the musicians.

It opens up a rare world of sound, rich in instrumental colors—at times radiantly symphonic, at others intimately chamber-like. This holds true equally for Ludwig van Beethoven’s festive Octet in E-flat major—the 200th anniversary of his death will be in 2027—as well as for Gustav Schreck’s romantic Nonet and George Enescu’s multifaceted Decet. They all follow in the tradition of the entertaining divertimento and combine playful lightness with depth.
