Wenzel, seasoned by every stage and drenched in the sweat of orgiastic concerts, remains astonishingly true to himself, no matter what craft he’s currently pursuing. He seems driven by an indomitable thirst for life, happiness, and laughter. He enchants his audience with gestures, glances, and the sound of his voice—weathered by whiskey and smoke, by melancholy and intoxication. Accordion, guitars, and piano shift beneath his hands depending on his mood.
It is always the moment that is celebrated—those irretrievable moments of a life, a love, a concert. Wenzel shies away from nothing. To him, the mundane pop song is just as significant as the sad ballad or the sarcastic couplet. His listeners are the kings. He is the jester. He holds a mirror up to his own face, and the audience recognizes themselves in it. Perhaps that makes life a little more bearable.
