Symphoniekonzert Nagano & Blechacz

Yvonne Loriod was a pioneer of contemporary music: as an extraordinary pianist, she brought even the most complex works to life, imbuing them with expression and depth.

Olivier Messiaen entrusted her with revising his compositions, and generations of students—including Kent Nagano—benefited from her musical expertise. As a composer, however, she remained largely overlooked for a long time: her *Pièce sur la souffrance* from the 1940s is now a rare rediscovery.

Mozart’s Piano Concerto No. 24 marks the transition between the Baroque tradition and the classical formal language. Finally, with Schubert’s “Great” Symphony in C major, the music unfolds entirely on its own terms, free from external expectations.
