Zwischen Werk und Spiel

“Between Work and Play” is a participatory exhibition project by Galerie M that blurs the boundaries between art production, exhibition, and collective action.

The gallery is not conceived as a place where finished works of art are presented, but rather as a living workspace where art is created anew every day.

Workshops, performances, open studios, and collaborative activities invite visitors to become part of the artistic process themselves.

New works are created, existing works are expanded, and the traces of shared experiences become visible. The project is not limited to the spaces of Galerie M.

Public space, too, becomes a venue for exchange and artistic production.

Squares, paths, and open spaces in the vicinity of the gallery are temporarily transformed into workspaces and exhibition areas, fostering new encounters between art and urban society.

“Between Art and Play” views creativity as an open-ended process. The project creates a space where experimentation, learning, encounters, and artistic practice coexist on equal footing.
