As part of the Walter Schels . 16° Fische retrospective, there will be a very special artist talk: Christoph Amend and Ubin Eoh from *Die Zeit*—known for their weekly question to talk show guests, “So, what are you doing this weekend?”—will be guests themselves at C/O Berlin this time.

In a live podcast with Walter Schels, taking place right in the middle of the exhibition, they’ll talk about his weekend routines, his art, and his life.

Welcome by Sophia Greiff . Curator . C/O Berlin

To mark Walter Schels’s 90th birthday, C/O Berlin, in collaboration with the F.C. Gundlach Foundation, is presenting the photographer’s first major retrospective in Berlin. Featuring more than 300 works, the exhibition offers new insights into a body of work spanning nearly seven decades.

The exhibition brings together key groups of works and focuses on a previously unknown aspect of his oeuvre: the extensive experimental body of work and transformative approaches that characterize Schels’s photographic practice—a discovery that reshapes our view of the photographer. The selection of works is based on a review of several thousand prints from the photographer’s archive, which is preserved and made accessible by the F.C. Gundlach Foundation.
