Music, Conversations, and Encounters
On August 22, 2026, from 2:30 p.m. to 10:00 p.m., the square will be transformed into an open-air festival venue featuring live music, talks, cultural events, and hands-on activities for the whole family. The program is aimed at radio fans as well as neighbors and anyone looking forward to a fun-filled day outdoors.
Planned events include live concerts—featuring artists such as Betterov and Joy Denalane—as well as DJ sets, discussions with prominent guests, and meet-and-greets with hosts and other program creators from Deutschlandfunk Kultur.
In addition, guided tours of the broadcasting center—offering insights into the work behind the microphones—and historical tours of the Berlin broadcasting center will be offered to mark the “80 Years of RIAS” (Radio in the American Sector) anniversary.
Families will also find plenty to enjoy: a children’s program and various hands-on activities invite visitors to explore and try things out.
Food trucks and beverage stands on the festival grounds will provide refreshments.
- Admission is free
- Location: Hans-Rosenthal-Platz, directly in front of the Deutschlandfunk Kultur Funkhaus in Berlin-Schöneberg/Wilmersdorf
