Open-air neighborhood festival on Schloßstraße

On June 21, 2026, Midsommar will join forces with the Fête de la Musique for a free open-air neighborhood festival on Schloßstraße, in front of and inside the Forum Steglitz.

Inspired by the Swedish Midsummer festival and the long-standing city partnership between the Steglitz-Zehlendorf district and the Swedish city of Ronneby, visitors can look forward to a varied program with a Scandinavian flair.

The centerpiece of the event is a festively decorated Midsummer tree, around which market stalls, seating areas, and interactive activities are grouped. Bales of straw serve as seating and invite visitors to linger, while artists and cultural groups provide the perfect musical backdrop on stage. The program includes live music, dance performances, and cultural presentations with a Nordic theme, as well as events as part of the Fête de la Musique.

At 2:00 p.m., Swedish Ambassador Veronika Wand-Danielsson will deliver a welcome address on stage and officially open the program.

There is also plenty to discover offstage. Visitors can compete in Viking chess (Kubb) and cornhole, win small prizes in a fishing game, or sample Swedish specialties, berry drinks, and traditional sweets. Families can look forward to numerous hands-on activities. At Forum Steglitz itself, there will also be a creative Midsummer workshop where visitors can make flower crowns and flower bracelets.
