Lieder by Brahms, Vaughan Williams, and Mandyczewski
Konstantin Krimmel loves songs, has Romanian roots, and grew up bilingual—qualities he shares with Eusebius Mandyczewski, who is best known in music history as the editor of the works of Schubert and his friend Johannes Brahms.
Together with his piano partner Ammiel Bushakevitz, Krimmel presents a selection of Mandyczewski’s Romanian Songs, which are scarcely known today.
In addition to works by Brahms and Schumann, the duo’s program also features Ralph Vaughan Williams’ Songs of Travel, sometimes referred to as the “English Winterreise.”
