Created between Istanbul and Berlin, “2009” constructs a fictional year from digital camera archives, memories, and pop culture references; it is nostalgic on the one hand, yet also breaks with the past. Sonically, Nalan moves between futuristic alt-pop, electronic textures, and minimalist live elements.
An evening of listening and conversation—an exploration of pop as memory, atmosphere, and shared experience.
