Concert in the Castle Courtyard
Their sensitive musical interpretations of timeless classics bring back to life the carefree, direct, and unpretentious character of tango from before the era of big bands. The delicate and harmonious interplay of the two guitars with the expressive vocals offers a unique opportunity to immerse oneself in the essence of the pieces.
Sergio Uslé García, born in 1978 in Santander, a city on the Atlantic coast in northern Spain, discovered the power of music 20 years ago while studying art and traded his paintbrushes for a guitar. His artistic journey was significantly enriched by his studies in music, particularly in the field of jazz. For him, music has always possessed the ability to speak to what is essential in our inner worlds. He found the best expression for his extraordinary voice in the rich tradition of Argentine tango as well as in fandango, copla, and jota.
Steffen Ehrhardt is a guitarist and composer, born in Halle an der Saale. He developed a passion for music at an early age: he sang in a choir, learned to play the clarinet and piano, and began teaching himself the guitar. His musical path led him, via studies in musicology, to Dresden, where he studied “World Music Guitar” under Prof. Thomas Fellow. Today, he teaches guitar himself. If one were to attempt to describe his music, the most striking aspect is his versatility. He plays both classical and electric guitar across genres including classical music, world music, modern jazz, contemporary music, film music, and free improvisation. It is therefore no surprise that when he met Sergio, he was immediately enthusiastic about the idea of interpreting classics of Argentine tango and Spanish folk songs.
Since then, these two musicians have been enchanting their audiences at their concerts with their harmonious interplay and an intimate, emotional atmosphere, in which Sergio’s voice blends beautifully with Steffen’s more classical style, creating a unique interpretation of this extraordinary music.
