This is waving salon

They arrived as a safe space for people and art, and that’s how they’re leaving: Tonight, too, they want to give everyone the chance to take the floor and enchant the stage at this place they’ve grown so fond of over the past few months.

This text is meant to radiate good cheer and invite you to come celebrate. But they’re allowed to sound a little wistful as they thank all their partners, fellow activists, and all the artists—and of course the Volksbühne and its team—who have made the Salon, Berlin, and the world perhaps a better, but certainly a more beautiful place, and will continue to do so.

Das Kombinat e. V. is a testing ground for collaboration among the most diverse people: self-determined, with trust and empathy. Visions, skills, and perspectives are combined, because diversity sees

Das Kombinat as a great strength and inspiration for solving many current challenges. Founded in Berlin in 2024, the intercultural association works on projects at the intersection of art and culture, youth work, and empowerment to build a critical, non-discriminatory, anti-patriarchal, and socially just society.

Projects include the Romani Filmmakers Network, PowerPeng!, and Medusa. The board members of Das Kombinat are: Olad Aden, Ha Phuong Nguyen Thi, and Estera Sara Stan.

Since November 2025 and through June 21, 2026, Das Kombinat e.V. has been managing and operating the Grüner Salon at the Volksbühne on Rosa-Luxemburg-Platz—as a safe space for people and art.
