What sets a RARE book signing event apart from regular book fairs?

At RARE, the focus is on the moments between visitors and authors. Every visitor has the opportunity to meet new authors and get to know as many of the attending authors as possible.

Depending on the ticket you purchase, you’ll have 5 or 7 hours in the event room to buy new books, get your own books signed, chat, and take photos with the authors.

No additional ticket is required, nor is there an extra fee to meet the author or take photos.

You can bring books from home or buy German-language books from the bookseller present. Some authors will offer pre-orders, allowing you to order books directly from them. Since many authors are traveling internationally, there may not be many extra copies available for sale on the day of the event. If you don’t want to or can’t bring physical books, you’re also welcome to have other items signed by the authors—they’re happy to sign just about anything.

The ECC is located in Neukölln, just outside the city center, but it’s easy to reach by public transportation, car, or taxi. It’s also only 13 km from Berlin Brandenburg Airport (BER).
