The Magnificat, Mary’s song of praise based on texts from the Gospel of Luke, will be performed around the time of the Visitation of Mary on July 4 in Johann Sebastian Bach’s best-known and perhaps most famous setting, as well as in a contemporary arrangement by the Argentine composer Martín Palmeri, inspired by Tango Nuevo.
