Songs from Old Berlin
Many legendary Berlin landmarks and Berliners have disappeared. But the songs about them remain, and when Sigrid Grajek sings them, she brings those old stories back to life.
The Berlin air, with its distinctive scent where nothing fades away, is celebrated extensively in many songs. In this air, the most diverse people have always thronged every corner of the city, each with their own stories, passions, loves, worries, hardships, and joys—and, of course, with that incomparable Berlin humor.
Come along on a stroll through the past, meet the Gänseklein family on the Ku’damm and Fredy Sieg at the Krumme Lanke. On our bike ride out of Berlin, we end up not only in Potsdam, Werder, and Ferch, but also in Bernau—where Zickenschulze is celebrating his wedding.
