On 17 May, we are celebrating International Museum Day. In the heart of the Nikolaiviertel, we invite you to visit our exhibition – admission is free.
Discover how the Berlin merchant family Knoblauch lived here some two hundred years ago in this authentic setting and in rooms furnished true to the original.
The exhibition “Berlin Life in the Biedermeier Era: Humboldt, Schinkel, and the Knoblauch Family” provides in-depth background on the house’s residents, their famous guests, and the era spanning from the end of the Napoleonic Wars in 1815 to the revolutionary events of 1848.
Info: International Museum Day will take place for the 49th time in 2026. Annually designated by the International Council of Museums (ICOM) for May 18, it will be celebrated in Germany this year on the third Sunday of the month. The aim of this event is to draw attention to museums and invite people to discover their diversity.
