With “Wo die Lerche singt,” the Neue Philharmonie Frankfurt takes you on a journey into the world of wildlife:
Johann Strauss and Co. were fascinated by everything that flutters, crawls, hops, and gallops.
Waltzes about swallows, polkas about old grumpy bears, and marches about the entire animal menagerie ensure a good mood, while virtuosos from the orchestra and two first-class vocal soloists create breathtaking moments and a dreamlike atmosphere at the Admiralspalast.
Inspired by the famous Vienna New Year’s Concerts and charmingly hosted by Chief Conductor Jens Troester, “Where the Lark Sings” combines evergreens like “Memory” from the musical “Cats” or Henry Mancini’s famous “Pink Panther” with classics such as the “Thieving Magpie” Overture or the fast-paced “Flight of the Bumblebee.” And with highlights from works by Lehár, Kálmán, and Offenbach, operetta fans won’t be left out either.
