Figure Skating – Berlin Culture in Motion
Thematically, the Berlinathon spans the capital’s cultural diversity: Four cultural runs are dedicated to the themes of art, theater, food, and music—showcasing Berlin in all its facets.
The Berlinathon kicks off on April 26 with the Art Run at the Academy of Arts at Hanseatenweg 10, where participants will be welcomed by representatives of the institution. After receiving a small care package and participating in a group warm-up, the route takes participants to locations where they can experience how art, history, and architecture shape public spaces. The routes through the Tiergarten and the Hansaviertel pass by the Flora statue and the Amazon on horseback, through the Sculpture Park Against War and Violence, and over the Moltke Bridge along the Spree to the House of World Cultures and back to the Academy of Arts. Along the way, there are several other artistic highlights hidden in the greenery of the Tiergarten. While running, participants have time to take a closer look and learn the stories behind these places.
The Art Run offers distances of 3 km, 7 km, or 11 km—each route invites you to see the city with fresh eyes: running, curious, and together.
After weeks of exercising together, the Berlinathon culminates on August 30 in a grand finale at Tempelhofer Feld—a summer celebration for everyone who loves fun, community, and their city.
