An interactive exhibition at the Children's Museum "Unterm Dach"

Under the motto “What’s good for me and what’s good for the world,” the young visitors explore the path to healthy and sustainable eating. Discover where food comes from, how it’s prepared, and what impact it has on your own body and the environment—an exciting interactive tour and a wide range of workshops invite you to explore these topics.

From superpowers to water footprints:

An interactive journey into the world of food

To discover the connection between food production, shopping choices, and the impact on one’s own body, the exhibition offers various interactive stations.

In the “supermarket,” children can “shop” to their heart’s content, then head to the “kitchen” to learn how the selected foods are prepared and stored. In the “dining room,” curious food explorers discover how their own height relates to the right amount of food.

Tired and sluggish or happy and full of energy? In the “Kids’ Room,” food awakens superpowers. There, young explorers also meet fun “stars”: Katy Carrot, Bro Cooli, and Egg Sheeran share tasty tips for a balanced diet.

In addition, the interactive exhibition offers exciting behind-the-scenes insights into food production:

In the “Greenhouse,” for example, children can explore the water footprint of foods and discover their impact on the climate.

Smartberry, Megacarrot, or Master-Corn: How smart have you “eaten” yourself?

Those who have completed the entire course and solved the tricky extra challenges can test their knowledge at the ticket counter: Here, visitors find out whether they’ve “eaten” their way to becoming a Loose Leek, a Smart Berry, a Mega Carrot, or a Master Corn.

For additional eye-opening experiences exploring the diverse world of nutrition, the Children’s Museum under the Roof offers a wide-ranging program for school classes, groups, and families: From cooking to language workshops—here, everything goes through the head and the stomach to explore food and drink with all the senses.
